Designing for beach ceremonies and wind

Wind is the constraint people underestimate, because it is usually mild in the morning when they visit the site and steady by mid afternoon when they marry. A standard freestanding arch that is stable indoors will move on a beach, and a moving arch is a safety problem before it is an aesthetic one.

Hinterland versus beachfront

Tamborine, Currumbin Valley and the Numinbah are cooler, more sheltered and greener, and they suit garden styling that would look out of place on the sand. They are also 40 to 70 minutes from the coastal studios, on roads that are narrow and slow in places.

That travel is the real difference in the quote. A hinterland wedding is usually a single trip with everything staged on site, because a second run for a forgotten item costs two hours. We plan the delivery as one movement and build in the contingency rather than pretending it is a metro drop.
