Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Aisle and Stem collects when you send an enquiry, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can access or correct it. It is written to the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
Template for legal review. This page is a starting template only. Aisle and Stem should have it reviewed by an Australian legal adviser and completed with the registered business name, ABN and contact details before the site goes live.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and deliver the work.
- Contact details you give us: name, email address and phone number.
- Event details: the occasion, date, venue, location and guest numbers.
- Anything you write to us in the enquiry message or in later correspondence.
- Technical information collected automatically by our website and analytics tools, including IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.
We do not ask for and do not want government identifiers, payment card numbers or sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act.
How we use it
| Purpose | What this means |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry | Preparing a floral direction and getting back to you |
| Delivering the work | Briefing the florist who will make and install your flowers |
| Coordinating with third parties | Confirming access and timing with your venue or funeral director |
| Administration | Invoicing, record keeping and responding to questions later |
| Improving the website | Understanding which pages are useful, in aggregate |
Who we share it with
To do the work, some of your information has to reach other people. We share the minimum necessary.
- The florist engaged to make and install your flowers: the arrangement specification, delivery address and a contact name and number for the day.
- Your venue or funeral director: install timing and access details.
- Our service providers: website hosting, email, analytics and accounting software.
- Where required by law, or to prevent a serious threat to life, health or safety.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store data outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. The specific providers and their locations are to be confirmed before this site goes live.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept while they are useful for the work and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and record keeping purposes. Financial records are kept for the period required by Australian tax law. Information no longer needed is destroyed or de identified.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies to make the site work and, where analytics is enabled, to understand in aggregate how it is used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of providing access in some circumstances.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page.
